The main purpose of this Website, opened as I cross the 'three score years and ten' mark, is quite simple: it relieves me of the complexities and irritations of the normal publishing process and facilitates speedier dialogue. So, its first entry is the book Lack in the Beingstalk: A Giants Causeway, published and made available here for download on that crossing date, an invitation to beingstalk. The Website also makes available previous publications, not readily available. These, along with the title first mentioned, are listed in the Book section and yours for the downloading.
My primary interest, however, is the project initiated in the Cantowers section, which replaces all previous promises of further books and articles, for example, the book Loneliness, Physics, and the Axial Cosmos, promised on page 3 of Lack in the Beingstalk, as forthcoming in 2004 or so, is now to be integrated into the Cantowers project.
The Cantowers are a series of articles that will be placed on this Website on the first day of each month. You may well have detected already the echo of Ezra Pound, and indeed his life-long project of 117 Cantos led me to the title. The project, however, is somewhat more ambitious than Pound's 800 pages of Cantos. It is, in fact, a million word project of 117 Cantowers: perhaps the equivalent of 3,000 pages. It should be finished by the end of 2011. Cantower 1 will appear on Easter Monday, April 1, 2002, where further pointers to the direction and character of the work will be given. In particular, I shall suggest, as we go along, patterns of Cantower Dialogue that may weave this decade's communal searching into some unity of efficiency.
